Rib graft revision rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that is designed to correct issues that may arise after a previous rhinoplasty procedure that utilized rib grafts. We will discuss why someone might consider this type of rhinoplasty and what to expect from the procedure.

Why Consider a Rib Graft Revision Procedure?

A previous rhinoplasty that utilized rib grafts may result in aesthetic and functional issues such as visible irregularities, asymmetric nostrils, or a distorted nasal shape. Additionally, the rib grafts may shift or move over time, which can cause further complications. A rib graft revision can correct these issues and restore a natural-looking, functional nasal contour.

What to Expect

A rib graft revision procedure is typically performed under general anesthesia, and the specific details of the surgery will depend on the individual case. In general, the procedure involves removing or reshaping the existing rib grafts, correcting any asymmetry or irregularities, and restoring a natural-looking nasal contour. Recovery time can vary, but most patients can return to work or school within two weeks of the procedure.

Primary Septorhinoplasty

If you have undergone rhinoplasty surgery outside of the USA and are experiencing complications such as nasal valve collapse or pollybeak deformity, revision rhinoplasty may be necessary to correct these issues. Revision rhinoplasty is a specialized procedure that requires the expertise of a skilled and experienced surgeon.
